No we can’t legally make you help stop other people from being afraid but you can be refused entry or stewards can legally remove you from the building if you do not show proof of the mask exemption to a steward when asked.

You need to speak to the point of purchase.
Ticket sellers are taking no responsibility for the health passports mandate, they are not asking anyone for proof before purchasing a ticket. It is the venue who require to see the passports for entry so you would be liable for refund if I am no longer allowed entry to YOUR venue . Can you provide me with the name of the manager I should write to to request this.

The venue hires the room to a promoter and the safety measures are decided in conjunction with the promoters, artists, health and safety and staff, and within the legal mandate of the Scottish Government government.
If you cannot attend the “point of purchase”, not the venue hold the funds until the show, then they are passed to the promoter and artist.
If you strongly feel you want a refund it is the point of purchase that have the ability to issue it, not the venue, until the show is performed, then it is the artist and/or promoter, not the venue you need to be contact.

At present we are sticking with our current restrictions until 18 Oct but that may get turned in its head if the Gov clarify the message from yesterday, which was not clear so we cannot guarentee that!
Note: The Gov website has not yet been changed to confirm the extension or give guidance.
I will repeat again, the best way to ensure entry to gigs after Thursday or 18 Oct is to have proof of 2 vaccinations.
PCRs are not mentioned on the Gov website so at present they will no longer be accepted. We are hoping this gets changed, as many in the the industry have requested.
If you are still concerned you may not get in to a show you can either sell your tickets or ask for a refund.
Sorry if this is not a great answer but we have to abide by the law as it is presented to us and after 2 years, if crew, bands and staff not having a wage, we cannot risk fines or closure.

It’s good to see that you are not requesting proof of vaccination (yet), but it is shame that there will be an expectation for people to show “proof” of their mask exemption by wearing a lanyard for everyone else to see. It isn’t anyone’s responsibility to “help stop other people from being afraid” – their fear is their own. The decision not to wear a mask is personal choice and might not always come from being “medically exempt” but will almost always come from a place of health autonomy. There are many people who have very valid reasons not to wear a mask aside from illness. Regardless of the reason for not wearing a mask (medically exempt or not), people may want to keep that to themselves. It appears data protection has gone out the window for the “new normal” and people now have to label themselves as having a “health condition” so as to have their decisions respected. Not to mention, a lanyard is in no way “proof” of anything, so it’s a completely performative measure that makes no sense whatsoever and only serves the purpose of displaying the venue’s compliance with government agenda. Personally I’m on the verge of cancelling tickets I have at Barrowland over this, which is a shame because it has been the heart and soul of the Glasgow music scene for a long time. Unfortunately measures like this will alienate a lot of people – fans and musicians alike. And it won’t be forgotten.

Totally unacceptable comments from an Admin person that clearly doesn’t understand or chooses to ignore the law regarding the Equality Act 2010.
The policies are set by the venue in consultation with government, promoters, staff, health and safety experts and the artists.
The “admins” have zero control over policy, they are just the messenger.
The venue, promoter and artists all have a legal obligation to keep all members of staff and customers safe, and they set the standards.
You are within your right to complain or ask for a refund if you do not like the safety measures but they remain until a team of experts provide an updated set of procedures or Government changes the law.
Im just glad to finally get back in to see a gig and if that means i have to wear a mask or have a LFT then i will do it in a heartbeat! Some people will just moan no matter what you do….if you don’t like it then just stay home and let the rest of us enjoy ourselves x

Hi! Will your venue be impacted by the vaccine passport law coming on the 1st of October? I’m pregnant and by the time the shows comes I will have only had the baby 6/7 weeks prior so will only have had time
to get 1 vaccine before the gig.
I know you will follow the governments guidelines so not asking for clarification re my attendance , I am aware I will be penalised for not wanting to take a chance on the vaccine on my unborn baby ( not your fault) but before I give my ticket away I want to make sure the OCS gig in Dec will require proof of vaccination. We are coming up from England for the Nothing But Thieves gig on 11th October. We were hoping the vaccine passport would be scrapped like it was here. However, I see that Nicola Sturgeon announced yday that it will still go ahead from Friday.

the industry has asked Gov to let us accept PCR tests but as yet this has not been agreed so unless that changes, they will not be accepted.
If you are vaccine exempt you should call the NHS Helpline or ask your local health centre for an exemption certificate, which you would need for entry.
We are asking all people to voluntarily take a free flow tests before coming to any show so they can enjoy it knowing they are not putting others at risk.

I guess some of the folk expressing indignation need to remember that some of us have actually lost people through this. I work in the nhs and it’s long been a requirement for me to be fully vaccinated for HepB for example to protect others, so I have no sympathy for the anti vax brigade. Also, FYI, I’ve yet to advise anyone not to have a mask or get a vaccine on medical grounds. And yes, I am fully qualified to make those assessments. No apologies for hijacking this space to make the point. Small price to pay to get to a gig and enjoy live music again!

If the concert is after 18 Oct and you are 18 or over, sadly not, as the law demands we don’t let people in without proof of 2 x vaccines or medical exemption.

It should be as long as the app clearly states you are fully vax’d but if they have a way of p4ronting off a PDF or paper version that would help.

My friend and her husband both have a rare medical condition (they met via a support group) and due to a specific medication there consultant recommended they shouldn’t have vax. They both recently had covid and therefore are considered not to be infectious or contagious. There is no real policy in place for vaccine exemption, would a letter from gp or consultant do? Also do they need to actually disclose the medical condition on it?
Yes a letter from a GP would be fine and no they do not have to show a reason for exemption, just that they are exempt.
